Valli del Pasubio (Vicenza) is a small town sited on a steep hill side.
We used consolidate typological elements in compositional relations that relates with the topographical features of the site in order to enhance and preserve the identity of the place while maintaining their singular recognizability. The building is located on the ridge, two floors high in the upstream part and three storey high in the downstream.
In the upper part an enclosing wall –with a fixed high- contains the different places of the school: two overlapped three-light windows, within short blind walls, indicates the position of the atrium; two rows of ribbon windows stress the repetition of classrooms and a window, occupying the all vertical section, marks the presence of the transversal corridor .
The columned forepart contains, on the lower floor, a gym, and in the upper one a meeting room.
For the passengers in transit in the road below, the new school wants to appear as a sort of ‘mountain temple’.
