The museum consists of a volume dived, at the ground floor, in two different parts: in the central part the foyer turns into a covered square; a wide open space extremely porous from the exteriors and accessible both from the little square of the museum both from the main public space fronting the Danube. On this level we placed a minimum quantity of program in order to stress the sensation of being in a covered square. From the ground floor, passing by the Schaurum and walking up the stairs where the entire building volumetric complexity becomes evident, we reach the upper floors where we placed all the museum spaces. In the central part of the volume there are all the spaces linked to the permanent exhibition; in the eastern part all those concerning the temporary one. La Bavariathek – The second building it is a simple and compact volume containing all the functions of the bavariateca who were distributed on two floors in the north part of the building: the library has been placed at the ground floor, all the administration offices in the upper floors.
